Somare Legacy Lives On With Pangu Party

By Jack Lapauve Jr – EM TV News, Port Moresby

The Somare legacy will continue to relate with the Pangu Party name.

This morning, Pangu Party leader and Bulolo MP, Sam Basil, announced the appointment of Dulciana Somare-Brash as the party’s Strategic Policy Advisor.

Basil says her appointment is timely as the country lacks strategic policy making to guide leaders in decision making. Basil says leaders need strategic policy advisors to be cautious when making decisions for the country and its people.

“Her appointment will be a boost to reform the party to move forward into the 2017 general elections,” Basil said.

Dulciana was born in 1973 when her dad, Sir Michael Somare, was appointed as the Chief Minister.

She says her life in politics will continue to embrace the Somare legacy.

“I’m so privileged to join pangu party and move PNG politics to another level,” Dulciana said.

Pangu member and Goilala MP, William Samb, says a lady of such caliber will drive the party’s machinery forward as the 2017 general election looms.

“We are so glad to have such [a] woman with great experience,” Samb said.
