Solomon Islands Police Best Trained in the Pacific

By Samantha Semoso – EMTV Online

The RAMSI (Regional Assistance Mission to Solomon Islands) celebrated its 12th Anniversary on Friday, July 24. RAMSI Special Coordinator, Justin Braithwaite, announced at the celebrations that the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) has the best-trained police officers in the pacific.

Braithwaite said this is a result of good cooperation between the participating police force PPF (Policing Professional Framework) and the Royal Solomon Islands Police.

“In terms of training, you may not be aware, but RSIPF today is one of the best-trained, if not, the best-trained police force in the Pacific,” said Braithwaite.

He also stated that the RSIPF is now well equipped with motor vehicles and vessels meeting pacific standards to police its provinces and borders.

“RSIPF will soon take possession of another nine steady-craft longer range vessels, which will add to its large fleet, further strengthening its abilities to police its provinces and country as a whole,” he said.
