Sir Wilson Kamit,the former Governor of the Bank of Papua New Guinea has joined the PNG Sustainable Development’s Board of Directors.
PNGSDP chairman Sir Mekere Morauta, made the announcement today, saying Sir Wilson brings a wealth of expertise and experience to the board.
Sir Wilson replaces Dr. Jacob Weiss as a director of PNG DP, nominated by the Bank of Papua New Guinea
After over 10 years as a director, Dr Weiss was required to stand down because of several conflicts of interest.
These include Dr Weiss’ appointment as the leader of the Government team set up to take over PNGSDP’s shares in Ok Tedi Mining and to gain control of the 1.4 billion US dollars in PNG DP’s Long Term Fund.
