Sesame Street’s Elmo: Puppeteer’s Sex Offense Accuser Changes Tune

After action taken to protect his reputation Elmo’s puppeteer, Kevin Clash, has had his name cleared by none other than the accuser himself.

Kevin Clash, puppeteer of 27 years for the world famous Sesame Street Puppet “Elmo”, was accused by a previous lover for having engaged in a sexual relationship with him while he was still a minor at the age of sixteen. 52 year old Clash strongly opposed these claims by stating that while he has never been ashamed of his sexual orientation, he has not at any time in the past become romantically involved with a minor.

“I am a gay man. I have never been ashamed of this or tried to hide it, but felt it was a personal and private matter,” Clash told E! News in a statement. “I had a relationship with the accuser. It was between two consenting adults and I am deeply saddened that he is trying to characterize it as something other than what it was. I am taking a break from Sesame Workshop to deal with this false and defamatory allegation.”

Clash’s accuser later through his attorney clarified his previous statement by agreeing to the puppeteer’s statement that the relationship was on par with the law.

“This office represented the 23-year-old man who was the subject of many media reports regarding Kevin Clash. He wants it to be known that his sexual relationship with Mr. Clash was an adult consensual relationship. He will have no further comment on the matter.”

On hearing this news, Clash then said, “I am relieved that this painful allegation has been put to rest. I will not discuss it further.”
