The Personnel Management Department has announced the substantive appointments for key central agencies in Papua New Guinea.
Personnel Management Department Secretary, John Kali, in an interview with EM TV announced, the new appointments are for the community development and treasury departments.
Anna Solomon was appointed as the Secretary of Community Development, while Dairi Vele was appointed as the Secretary of Treasury.
Mr Kali highlighted that applications were selected, as per requirements, criteria’s and for experiences within the public service system.
Several public service figures were reappointed, including Personnel Management Department Secretary himself, John Kali and Justice Secretary, Lawrence Kalinoe.
Secretary’s positions for Finance and National Planning and Monitoring Departments have been re-advertised.
Two other appointments are for East New Britain and Madang Provincial Administration, which are in the final stages of being processed for consideration by their respective provincial executive council.
Under the new Public Service Management Act 2014, all departmental heads, provincial administrators, chief executive officers, will now be required to sign the innovated performance management contracts to measure performance and outcomes.
