SDA Youths leave for South Africa

Twelve youths from Kavieng in New Ireland Province left for South Africa on Monday for theWorld Conference on Youth and Community Services.

The world conference is held every five years bythe Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Member for Kavieng and Minister for Public Enterprise and StateInvestment Ben Micah was withthe youths to say farewell.

Minister Micah assistedthe groups travel with K160, 000.

“I used some my DSIP funding which has been earmarked for Law & Order to fund this group to go to South Africa because I believetheir attendants in thisWorld Congress will not only opentheir mind but it will givethem a much more broader impression of how problems withintheir communities can be resolved by learning fromthe experience people from ther parts ofthe world, especially a lot of developing countries,” said Minister Micah.

The youths will bethere for a week undergoing training in community service delivery.

Minister Micah said development of human resource was a priority of his and he wanted to expose more youths from his electorate to gther knowledge for the betterment ofthe District and Province.

TheWorld Conference on Youth and Community Development brings youths aged 18 to 30 from every world division ofthe church.

Therethey will share, learn, and propose ways on how to contribute meaningfully totheir communities.
