Rod Griffin May Be NRL Bound

By Dion Kombeng – EM TV Sports, Port Moresby

Papua New Guinean, Rod Griffin, could be NRL bound after a stellar season with the Ipswich Jets in the 2015 Intrust Super Cup.

After taking out the ISC premiership, the Jets went on to defeat the winner of the New South Wales Cup in the curtain raiser for the 2015 NRL grand final.

A successful 2015 season for the Ipswich Jets has seen Papua New Guinean Rod Griffin claim the clubs best and fairest award, the Allan Langer Medal.

The front rower pulled on the Kumul’s jersey at the 2008 rugby league world cup, where PNG placed 5th.

Following the cups success this season, it is revealed that the clubs tough-as-teak prop could be NRL bound.

Griffin has played an instrumental part in the clubs success and now there has been talk that the lad from PNG could be NRL bound next year.

Griffin and a few other players have been on under NRL clubs radar, and the reality of playing in highest level competition in Rugby League for some of the players could become a reality in the near future.
