Review Selection Systems

By Fabian Hakalits – EMTV Port Moresby

Don Bosco Technological Strategic Partnership and Quality Assurance head, Dr Catherine Nongkas, says that young people must be given opportunities in education.

Speaking to EMTV News recently, Dr Nongkas says young people once given the opportunities; excel in education and their career.

“We here at Don Bosco, give young people opportunities, especially those that the government education system cannot cater for,”

“And once given the opportunity, they excel, meaning they perform very well in their academic work and achieve results.”

Dr Nongkas also challenged the National Government to relook at the selection system.

“That shows the quality of these graduates. Sometime the GPAs don’t tell the story. And I think at the moment, what I am challenging the government and the system to do is not to look at the GPA,”

“Look at the products and their quality, how quickly they are employed and what do they do,” Dr Nongkas said.
