A 42-year-old refugee in Manus is recovering from injuries to his forehead after he was assaulted by a local, last Saturday.

The victim, Ali Razami from Iran, is married to a local woman and resides at Ward Five, near the Manus Provincial Government Office.

Police say Razami was hit with a piece of iron on his right eye and was rushed to the hospital for treatment.
