Red Rock to manage K2 million road project in Lae

Feeder roads alongthe industrial zones in Lae will undergo maintenance at a cost of two million Kina.

The feeder roads were part of a one hundred million kina rehabilitation program financed bythe national government.

Bet it took an investigation in nearly two years debate beforethe work was completed.

While much ofthe government attention has been onthe inter city road rehabilitation,the industrial roads continue to fall apart.

Lae MP and minister for Community Development Loujaya Toni presented a nine hundred thousand kina cheque as initial payment onthe two million kina project that will rehabilitate sections ofthe roads alongthe industrial areas.  

The local firm Red RockInvestment has wonthe bid to managethe project.

Chairman ofthe Red Rock Company, Garette Kising while receivingthe cheque fromthe minister saysthe rehabilitation ofthe roads will utilize latest technology to stabilizethe roads to with’standthe wether and use of heavy machineries.

Asthe one hundred million kina Lae road rehabilitation has been under controversy, Mr Kising saysthe two million kina redevelopment ofthe industrial roads is expected to give a facelift tothe Lae roads inthe city and also restore confidence inthe tax payers.
