Air Niugini has temporarily suspended all its operations to Tokua airport in Rabaul due to volcanic ash overthe aerodrome and surrounding areas.
The suspension comes into effect as of yesterday and will remain until futher notice.
A change in wind direction has blown ash over Tokua.
Air Niugini saysthe airspace over Tokua will be monitored on a daily basis and any decision to resume flights will depend onthe prevailing winds.
Passengers with tickets to travel to Rabaul are advised to revalidatethem.
