Telikom PNG and Datec Donate Printers to Schools

Six Schools in NCD were proud recipients of Printers donated by Telikom PNG through its Telikom Foundation Incorporated (TFI), and Datec Learning Centre.

The Schools were:

  • St Johns Tokarara Primary School;
  • St Paul’s Gerehu Primary School;
  • Institute of Christian Academy School;
  • Dela Salle Secondary School;
  • La Salle Technical College; and
  • Jubilee Catholic Secondary School

Each school were given a HP L/Jet M88O Printer by Telikom Foundation Incorporated in partnership with Datec Learning Centre.

The first of its kind donation is part of a new program which Telikom Foundation is embarking on to help raise the standard in Schools and learning skills in PNG, with assistance from other relevant business organisations.

TFI Coordinator, Yolanda Bafmatuk said the Foundation is happy to partner with Datec PNG Limited in supporting Schools in PNG.

“We understood the dilemma they have in printing close to five hundred copies of just newsletters to go out to students and we hope this would help them in terms of their operations and printing jobs,” Bafmatuk said

Datec Learning Centre General Manager, Ravichandran C.  added that his Centre, as an education service provider, was aware of the predicament of having access to ICT knowledge and infrastructure in PNG.

“For this reason, the Centre is doing its part in reaching out with awareness to develop the IT sector in each and every primary and secondary schools,” Ravichandran said.
