Potape Challenges Restraining Order

By Jack Lapauve Jr –  EMTV,  Port Moresby

Komo-Magarima MP and assembly elected Hela Governor, Francis Potape, is filing an urgent application against his restraining. Potape said the assembly process is complete and Anderson Agiru must work with him.

“The courts have restored Agiru but he does not have the number to hold a quorum or assembly meeting,” Potape said.

In the meantime, Potape said the LNG Project will not be disturbed by the ongoing political tussle. He said the recent PNGDF soldier killings will be investigated.

“I will be in Tari to solve this law and order and restore peace,” Potape added.

He called on the people of Hela to remain calm and ask public servants to remain neutral for government services to be maintained for people to benefit.

“I call on all public servants to be neutral and perform their duty under standing orders of the public service,” said Potape.

The substantive matter will be heard in the courts on February 19 in Port Moresby.
