Positive Signs for Cricket PNG

With the recent success of the CPL PNG Lewas and the Hebou PNG Barramundis, the growth of cricket throughout Papua New Guinea is inevitable.

With the Barramundis aiming to improve their ICC ranking, and the Lewas posing as a threat as the Women’s Cricket World Cup looms, it will be a busy year for Cricket PNG.

With the Barramundis successfully hosting Kenya on home soil, and going undefeated earlier this year, they’re also touring against Australian state cricket teams in August and September.

The Barramundis will play host to another home game against Namibia in September, which will be a boost for the Barras as they vie to improve their associate ODI rankings.

The Lewas on the other hand have proved critics wrong as they ran rampant over competitors at the recent East Asia-Pacific, ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier in Samoa.
