By Theckla Gunga – EMTV News, Port Moresby

A police officer has been identified as a suspect in the alleged killing of two Hanuabada men in 2015.

Police Commissioner, Gari Baki, confirmed this today saying the forensic unit had matched the empty bullet cells to the firearm used.

“The forensic team has matched the empty shell casing to the firearm used,” Baki said.

The officer is known to police but has fled the country and police are working on bring him back for prosecution.

The two Hanuabada men were allegedly shot and killed in January 2015 by police.

A commission of inquiry was established weeks after but no suspects had been arrested until this month.
