PNG U16 Rugby League Team Named

PNG Rugby Football League chairman Sandis Tsaka has announced the PNG U16 team to take on the New South Wales U16 team.

The game will be a curtain raiser to the PNG PM’s versus Australia PM’s 13 match in Port Moresby on Saturday September 24, 2016.

Tsaka said the PNG U16 team was selected following the National Confederate championships in Lae.

Tsaka added they must be supported because they are the next generation of elite rugby league players in the country.

An eighteen man team has been named, and have been equally picked from the four different confederates. Four players from the Highlands and Islands and Five players each from the Northern and Southern Confederate.

They will be coached by Northern Confederate’s, Dennis Miall, managed by Margaret Mai and Andrew Stone as trainer.

The team will meet this weekend in Port Moresby.

Wendel Kipsy – Northern
Carlos Wulala – Islands
Willie Tusa – Northern
Judah Rimbu – Southern
Wiya Joel – Highlands
Gershwin Gilbert – Southern
