PNG To Host Australasian Karate Tournament

PNG Karate Do is preparing to hostthe Australasian Karate Tournament in December, where fighters fromIndonesia and New Caledonia will participate.

The highly disciplined sport plans on staging more events leading intothe 2015 Games.

 

It has been a while sincPNG played host to an international Karate eventoand current President oPNG Karate Do, Carl Marie is optimistic about stagingthe Australasian Tournament.

 

Following a number of training camps for boththe juniors andthe seniors, a young and vibrant batch of fighters has been identiflied to carrythe hopes oPNG inthe sport.

 

The highly disciplined sport has attracted a large number of athletes; eventhe young have takenthe code to heart.

 

While Karate is a well-administered sportofunding has also come atthe right time with two hundred thousand Kina presented yesterday bythe Sport Minister Justin Tkatchenko.

 

Beack Belt holders Sailas Piskaut (pictured) and Julius Piku will also be taking part inthe Fijian Open Karate Championships next month.
