The Management of PNG Power was not formally advised of a Union meeting held at lunch time today.
The Management was only made aware after the meeting and if the meeting was in relation to the suspension of two Executive Management members, it was then deemed purely an internal Management matter.
Their suspension is part of the due process to allow them the benefit to respond to serious allegations made against them.
Acting Chief Executive Officer, Alex Oa, appealed to the staff not to take any drastic actions as the suspension is not an industrial matter and does not warrant the involvement of the Unions.
Mr. Oa would like to let the Union members know that the Management and Board of PNG Power are addressing their outstanding issues. Some of these issues have been addressed and others will be presented to the Board for their decision.
