PNG Power Limited has joined forces with International Finance Corporation (IFC), to deliver reliable power at a lower cost, to remote centers of PNG.
Under an agreement signed by both parties, they will work together to provide reliable power to remote centers not connected by the country’s two main electricity grid.
The two organizations will identify ways to boost power generation, through renewable energy, such as Solar and wind.
PNG Power’s Strategic Planning and Business Development Director, Bruce Corbet, said this partnership with IFC, will help achieve the government’s objective of providing 70 percent of electrification by 2030.
IFC’s Vice President for Asia and Pacific, Nena Stoiljkovic, explained that the IFC has worked in many parts of the world, to bring sustainable solutions to different types of energy generation.
She said IFC is ready to work with PNG Power to address this challenge.
