By Lillian Sopera Keneqa – EMTV News, Port Moresby

To begin the Holy Week, PNG Power Limited held a thanksgiving and dedication service on Thursday, April 17. PNG Power staff, even some with their families, showed up for the company’s first ever thanksgiving and dedication service. Staff from Kwikila, Kanudi, 4 Mile, their Head office and Rouna were all present for this important occasion.

PNG Power Managing Director, Carolyn Blacklock, upon thanking her team, mentioned that in the last 15 months the company has been working together to bring back one of their core values which is a team that wants what is best for the country.

She said “We have lots of people of who say a lot of bad things about us, but we have pulled closer… we are now a team that want what’s best for our country and our people.”

The staff were reminded again by guest speaker, Reverend Walters, to possess and work on having good attitudes as a part of their daily lives.

He said “If we take these bad attitudes in allow them to dictate the way we live, we are going to continue to struggle. But I pray today that there will be a shifting and realigning with spiritual truth that will take us from where we are to where God wants us to be.”

While thanking those who were currently on duty, Ms. Blacklock also stressed that there has been a definite shift in how her team operates.

“We’ve gone from adorning ourselves to having the agenda being about the people we serve,” Ms. Blacklock said.

All PPL centers around the country also had the thanksgiving service.
