PNG Power Gets 2nd Prize at Morobe Show

PNG Power Limited scoopedthe second price underthe Government and Semi-Government body category atthe recent 2013 Morobe Show in Lae.

 

The show committee was impressed with PPL’s display of a model for the chain of electricity – generation, transmission, distribution and retailing, and educatingthe general public onthe production and usage of electricity.

PPL officials made an excellent presentation usingthe electricity model, and explained in simple terms for the public to digest.

 

Visitors tothe stall were told thatthe standard voltage to every household in PNG is 240 volts and thatthey should use 240 volts electrical appliances approverd by PPL only.

 

They were also told to quit using substandard appliances asthey were puttingtheir lives and properties at risk.

 

The stall visitors were advised to ask for a PPL Certificate of Approval at shops selling cheap electrical appliances before buyingthem.

 

Meanwhile,the first prize was awarded to National Agricultural ResearchInstitute.
