Police in Yonki inthe Eastern Highlands Province have received anther vehicle froPNG Power Yonki to support operations alongthe famous Highlands Highway.
This isthe second vehicle to be donated by a State –owned Enterprise operating inthe area. This area is considered one ofthe high risk areas in terms of frequent vehicletheftoroad blocks and ther criminal activities.
Despitethe negative publicity onthe frequent power outages inthe Highlands region, Madang and MorobePNG Power Yonki has donatedtheLandcruiser to support police operations.
Provincial Police Commander SuperintendentoJohn Kale, saidthey needed more vehicles to performtheir jobs effectively andthe assistance came at a time when police were gearing up for the festive season operationsPNG Power’s Manager forInvestigations and Protection Services, Don Besco Muruwari, saidthe gift was part ofthe SOE’s community obligation.
