PNG Ports Graduate Development Program A Success

ThPNG Ports graduate development program has been hailed a success for career development.

Participants who have takenthe program say it has preparedthem adequately for their jobs.

With an aim to develop future managers ofthe organisationPNG Ports Corporation establishedthe Graduate Development Program in 2005.

Today, current employees who came throughthe program were awarded certificates of completion.

Now a Senior Desktop Support Officer, Joe Luba saidthe program built him to where he is today. He joinePNG Ports as a new university graduate, who did not have industrial experience.

Another successful participant is Stephanie Foisape. She climbedthe ranks to bethe HR Services Manager. She said a good attitude towards learning has benefits.

General Manager Corporate Services Mulai Ninihili-Vui said so far, over 30 of Ports current employees, came throughthe program andthey are expecting more throughthe program.

He saidthe number of graduates who hold management and supervisory roles is proof thatthe program is a success.

Participants agree thatthe Graduate Development Program is one that should be considered by ther companies to help buildtheir human resources.
