PNG Kapuls in Camp

The second leg of the 2018 World Cup qualifiers next year remains a daunting task for PNG men’s national team, The Kapuls.

However, Head Coach, Flemming Serritslev, has recruited six new players into the squad as as it prepares for their first meet with Tahiti in March next year.

PNG coach Flemming Serritslev has included Lae City Dwellers midfielder Troy Gunemba, his elder brother Raymond, Nigel Dabinyaba, and Obert Bika.

Other new faces will include Giwi Simon, Kenneth Pailau, John Ray and Kepo brothers Kolu and Ati from Central.

The five Solomon Islands based players include skipper David Muta, forward Tommy Semmy, defenders Koriak Upiaga , Daniel Joe from Marist FC, and Michael Foster from Malaita King FC.

Also included in the squad are New Zealand-based Raymond Gunemba and Australian-based Nigel Debinyaba.

This will be the first of the two camps scheduled for this year with the second camp in November. This will see the squad finalised for next year’s World Cup qualifier.

With the Kapuls already securing a second friendly against Malaysia in November, PNG is pooled in alongside heavyweights Tahiti and Solomon Islands.

The winner of the second leg of this qualifier will take on the South Africa’s fifth placed team for a spot in the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
