India Night Recognises Achievements

The PNG Indian community enjoyed a colorful evening of celebrations last night at the Sir John Guise Stadium, commemorating 34 years of bilateral friendship with Papua New Guinea.

The India Night cultural showcase is an annual event organised to recognise the growth of both countries and contributions of the Indian community to their foster home, Papua New Guinea.

Here are some of this year’s achievements;

– This year’s celebrated milestones include Dr. Subba Rao’s Order of Logohu award for distinguished contributions to the Papua New Guinea education sector,

– A major donation of K150, 000 and advanced IT services to the Port Moresby General Hospital,

– The establishment of bus shelters around the city and

– The introduction and the hosting of the first ever International Yoga Day held at the Ela Beach.
