PNG Games: Team NCD & Team Central For Swimming

Swimming has been included in the BSP PNG Games for the first time, and only two Provinces will take part in this sport.

Team Central and team NCD will see swimmers from both Lae and Port Moresby clubs. Final Selections for these two teams will be finalized in August.


Six swimmers are representing the country right now in the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland.


Two boys and four girls, with Assistant Coach, and Mentor, Ryan Pini, and head Coach, Elizabeth Wells. 


A substitute Coach has been assigned to lead both the senior and junior swimmers with their training in the lead up to their inaugural competition in the BSP PNG Games.


Coach Vilua will train the rest of the swimmers here in the country for two weeks before the return of head coach, Elizabeth Wells.


Mr Vilua is also the Team Manager for team central and will mentor and coach the swimmers, come the BSP PNG Games.


Team Central and Team NCD, will see athletes from Lae swimming club and Boroko swimming club here in the nation’s capital, Port Moresby, to represent those two provinces in the BSP PNG Games.
