PNG Air Design Attracts Locals

By Fabian Hakalits – EM TV News, Mt Hagen

The design of the rebranded airline, PNG Air, is already attracting the eyes of domestic tourists here in Papua New Guinea.

Following their launch last Wednesday, their new ATR aircraft has been conducting test flights to selected destinations around the country, where the design has been seen.

PNG Air’s test flights to selected airports have caught many by surprise, with the new aircraft ATR 72-600 and new logo design at its tail.

Moses Sineka and Maria Pulavo in Mt Hagen were very happy and said the design is PNG oriented.

In Mt Hagen, Chief Commercial Officer, Paul Abbot had to explain the design elements, saying it represents PNG in a new way, and stressed the PNG Air connection with Papua New Guinea.

The aircraft also made her maiden flight to Wewak, welcomed by different traditional dancing groups; the most outstanding of which being the Pukpuk dance.
