PM :In New Ireland

Prime Minister Peter O’Neill returned from a two-day tour ofthe New Ireland Province.

When speaking at various gtherings in Kavieng and Namatanai, Mr. O’Neill saidthe visit was his way of thankingthe three members of parliament fromthe province in helping to form a stable government.

The ther reason for his visit was to show support ofthe New Ireland provincial government and its planned projects.

Prime Minister O’Neill told people of New Ireland thattheir governor Sir Julius Chan made a strong stand to untie different political groupings. O’Neill said because of thisPNG now has a stable governmentowith three former Prime Ministersguidingthe younger members of parliament.

Mr. O’Neill was given a presentation onthe range of progressive programsthe provincial administration has for the people. Governor Sir Julius saidthe programs were aimed at making New Ireland,the most advanced, healthy and economically productive society in PNG Impressed, Mr. O’Neill saidthe government would supportthe projects.

Mr. O’Neill announced that an additional K5 million would be provided for the upgrade ofthe Beluminski Highway.
