PM Happy with Discipline Forces Preparation for Games

by Jack Lapauve Jr, EMTV – Port Moresby

With less than 10 days left until the Pacific Games, Prime Minister Peter O’Neill is pleased with the preparation of security forces for the games.

O’Neill said the police, defence and correctional forces will be put to the test, and will no doubt prove that PNG can host major events in the region, and the world.

He says this can be a motivating factor in improving the image of our discipline forces.

About K60 million was released by the government for security at the games. And with the launch of Safe Games Operation this week, Prime Minister O’Neill is confident all three forces will perform to their best.

O’Neill says, despite criticism of games venues completion, he is confident the games will be on schedule as planned.

He says PNG must show the true spirit of Melanesia.
