PM :Farewells Korean Ambassador

Prime Minister Peter ONeill has commendedthe Korean government for beingthe first buyer froPNG LNG project when production starts in 2014.

 

Mr ONeill said this when farewellingthe outgoing Korean Resident Ambassador Whie Jin Lee yesterday.

 

Amongtheir brief discussions,the possibility of a visit tPNG by Korea’s new President Park – Geun Hye (Park Kun Her).

It was a farewell call on Prime Minister Peter O'Neill by outgoing Korean Ambassador Whie Jin Lee atthPM’s Parliamentary Office.

 

Ambassador Lee said he was pleased to have enhanced bilateral relations withPNG and Korea. He hopes his predecessor will carry onthe good work.

 

He commendedthPNG government for the support accorded to him during his tour in PNG extendingthe thanks for supportingthe Korean candidate totheWorld Trade Organisation atthe APEC meet in 2011 among thers.

 

Likewise, Prime Minister Peter ONeill was grateful tothe Korean government notably for beingthe first customer oPNG LNG when production begins in 2014.  A token of appreciation was presented tothe Ambassador.

 

Mr O'Neill has requestedthe outgoing Ambassador to arrange for him to meet withthe new Korean President duringthe APEC LLeadersrsquo; Summit in October to invite her to visit PNG’soon.
