Sky watchers will be thrilled with this last week of October as there will be a planetary conjunction display – a cosmic event involving a close grouping of objects in the sky.
This planetary conjunction will see Mars, Jupitar and Venus align to form a triangle in the sky.
The planets can be seen as early as an hour before dawn in the eastern sky, and if weather permits, sky watchers will be able to see the planets draw closer each day over the week until forming a very close triangle on Wednesday.
No telescope or special equipment is needed to witness this event, but if you have an average set of binoculars that magnifies about 6 or 7 degrees of the sky, you will be able to get a truly amazing view of the planets and you’ll also be able to see 4 of Jupiter’s moons according to NASA.
Of the planets, Venus will be the brightest of them while Mars will be tinted red and Jupiter, the furthest from planet earth and also the largest of the three planets, will be just as visible.
There are also other cosmic events of similar nature due in the following months.
