Persistence Pays: Clean Drinking Water for Community

The Boru United Church  group in the Abau district of Central province will finally see the fruits of its persistence in bringing safe and clean drinking water to their village community.

Boru, is a remote and inaccessible coastal community located in the Cloudy Bay area, the group is one of six successful applicants to be granted AusAID funding for their clean water project.

 

It will receive 70,356 kina for water tanks, as well as training on water management and sanitation.  

 

4000 people are set to benefit..

 

Beru Laurie, a member of the Boru United Church Men's fellowship group said sicknesses and deaths are common because they lack clean water.
