Parliament debate yesterday focused on reviewingthe foreign policy.

The first foreign policy inthe lead up to independence was friendto all and enemy to none.

Foreign Affairs Minister Rimbink Pato said it must be changed to ‘Papua New GuineaConnect’.

Withthe growing technology and economies inthe worldPNG needed to review its foreign policy to keep up.

Minister Pato said this is to ensure thaPNG’s connections in a globalizing world are appropriate tothe changing circumstances ofthe 21st century and Vision 2050.

The minister toldthe house thatthe O’Neill Dion government has actively engaged in political and trade missions recently to promote and protectthe country’s interests.

The recentIndonesia visit by a high powered delegation led bythe Prime Minister was hailed a success and a stepping stone for the country.

Minister for Treasury Don Polye welcomedthe statementohowever, saidthe country needed to seriously address its in house problems first.
