Palais to Scout Talents at Steamships 7s Tournament

PNG Womenrsquo;s Rugby Union team,the Palais, will be looking to scout more talent atthe SteamshipsInter Company 7s tournament.

Palais Coach, John Larry saysthe hunt is on for new players to jointhe Palais for the Noosa Championships in October.

 

PNG Palais, have settheir pace competing inthe international tournaments andthe up-coming Oceania championship in Noosa, Australia will be no different.

 

This time,the team is optimistic of recruiting potential talent from ther centers includingthe recent Madang union roadshow.

 

The annual SteamshipsInter- company Rugby Sevens (7s) tournament will be a chance for Palais Coaching staff to scout girls intothe national side.  

 

HostoSteamship Trading Company invitePNG Rugby Football Union to officiate atthe one day tournament.

 

PNGRFU Competition Manager, Ian Liveras is looking at bringing in more women to participate in this code andthe Steamships 7s provides an ideal pathway.

 

This will bethe 23rd year for Steamships to stagethe tournament.

 

The tournament will kick off this Saturday atthe Beva Rugby Union ground in Port Moresby.

 

Four women teams’ will participate alongside 18 men’s’ teams from all overthe country.
