The Volunteer Program will see more than 3,000 volunteers engaged from the sponsors, institutions, companies, community and sports groups, schools and the general public.

The volunteer team’s role will be instrumental in the successful delivery of the 2015 Port Moresby Games, and volunteers will perform a range of essential jobs from hospitality, transport, customer, and health services, ceremonies, logistics, spectator services, and media assistance whilst some will require specialist skills such as translators, doctors and medical volunteers.

Chairperson for the Pacific Games, Emma Waiwai appealed for the citizens of Port Moresby to participate and get behind the Games. Minister for Sports and National Events, Justin Tkatchenko said being a volunteer shows your true heart and the Games will be the beginning of sporting revolution for the country that will have the best facilities in the region after the Games.

Volunteers will have the chance to be part of the biggest sporting event in the pacific and they will undergo two weeks of training for the task they will be applying for.
