Pacific Games Update

By Godwin Eki – EM TV Sports, Port Moresby

Following the announcement of transport and logistics services for the Pacific Games, CEO Peter Stuart told EM TV at a press conference today that he is adamant that this year’s Games will be the biggest and a successful one.

With only a few months away from the Games, Mr Stuart is confident that Papua New Guinea can and will host the biggest sporting event in the Pacific.

The Pacific Games will be a great opportunity for our home-grown talents in representing the country.

For some of them, this will be their first and an experience they will remember and talk about even after the Games. With many programs and organised events in preparation for the Pacific Games, Stuart said 90 staff members are working hard behind the scenes to keep the process in progress, finalising all necessary obligations in relation to the Pacific Games.

He said transport services for the Pacific Games is one prominent factor, following security, medical services and both medical and general volunteers during the Pacific Games.

He also said Team PNG will have a total contingent of up to 800 athletes representing the country to be part of the 28 different sporting codes.

With so many people optimistic about the Pacific Games’ sporting venues, CEO Peter Stuart is adamant that this Pacific Games will be a success and a milestone event, and has reassured the people of Papua New Guinea that these Games will be something that will be remembered for years to come.
