Over 70 men seriously injured after Police attack

Seventy-four men are nursing injuries after a police attack on Sunday in Port Moresby. Most ofthem with serious knife wounds just abovertheir heels.

They were attacked at 7-mile following a mediation at 9-mile.

The group of men were returning from 9-mile after a mediation betweenthem and anther ethnic group from Sepik over a previous incident.

The victims saythey were returning home in a peaceful manner whenthey were surrounded by police.

Afterthe ordealthey were taken tothe Gordons Police Station wherethey were held for a few hours. They tookthese images ontheir mobile phones as evidence ofthe attack.

The people from Kabwum have called on Moresby North-East MP Labi Amaiu, NCD Governor Powes Parkop, andthe nine MP’s from Morobe to look intotheir plight.

Currently police are investigatingthe matter.

The attack has once again brought fear intothe community over police brutality.
