He says the pilgrimage is timely with the peace process in Bougainville.
Mr Nisira spoke to EMTV News on Sunday October 2, when the world-famous International Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Our Lady of Fatima visited the Bougainville House of Representatives, and also the President Office of the Autonomous Bougainville Government.
Vice President Patrick Nisira told EMTV News, that as a Catholic; he grew up, knowing about the stories or phenomenon at Fatima with Our Lady’s messages, appealing for world peace.
“It means a lot to us the political leaders of Bougainville. It will strengthen the work of peace and encourage us Bougainvilleans to maintain peace before and after the referendum,”
As the Woman of Peace, her visit is important for Bougainville’s peace process.
“As the Queen of Peace, it will strengthen us and the Catholic faith on Bougainville and not only that, but other mainline churches who support the pilgrimage of Our Lady of Fatima,” Nisira said.
