Beth existing and intending businesses will soon register, file documents or do searches online without going totheInvestment Promotion Authority Office.

The system is expected to go Live onthe 25th of Novermber, 2013.

IPA will fully utilizethe media inthe remaining weeks to inform clients ofthe major change taking place inthe organisation.

“The IPA will go out and create critical awareness on what’s on offer and what sort of benefits are likely to come out of this scheme,” said Pomaleu.

The new system to be launched on Novermber 25th this year will see business related lodgements done online atthe comfort of your homes or offices instead of joining long queues at IPA office.

“We will open counters right throughoutthe night and on weekends. Hopefully we’ll be getting a lot more compliance in terms of documents that need to come through as well as increase registration of entities, and provide a little bit of efficiencies,”  said Pomaleu.

Once this program is rolled out,the method of payment will be using credit cards, but Mr. Pomaleu saysthey are also looking at using mobile phones.

IPA will still accept manual lodgements for the benefit of those businesses that don’t have access tothe internet.

The new system is in line withthe government’s announcement to repealthe Company’s Act 1997 andthe Business Names Act 1963.

“The Act will basically pave way for the Web Enable Registry system to come into operation, and is backed by legislative amendments,” said Pomaleu.

IPA will have several appearances on EMTV’s BusinessPNG Program every Tuesday nights to give clients and viewers more insight tothe changes.
