One Suspect Identified in Doctors’ Kidnapping

The Madang Police have identified a suspect involved in the kidnapping of two Surgical Doctors of the Modilon General Hospital.

The suspect is identified as the driver, who was driving the vehicle at the time of the kidnapping.

The two doctors were picked up by six men, armed with a gun and bush knives at the Kalibobo light house point area, at around 6pm on Friday.

They were then taken to Erima to be killed, as described by the doctors, but managed to escape and alert the police.

Police are working on picking up the suspect, and taking him in for questioning.

Meantime, the hospital’s services have been on hold for three days now following the incident, with only the emergency cases being attended to.

The police and the hospital are appealing to the General Madang public, to come forward with any information relating to the remaining suspects the incident.
