The people of North Fly District inthe Western Province are expected to see more road projects and development in 2014.
Ok Tedi Mining Limited Chief Executive Officer, Nigel Parker, in his recent visit to Ningerum Station to openthe Nupmo Footbridge, toldthe people of what to expect inthe New Year.
Throughthe Ok Tedi Development Foundation, some ofthe road projects to be constructed includethe Aiambak to Lake Murray road,the Ningerum to Lake Murray Road andthe Ok Menga to Telefomin Road. The Member for Telefomin, Solan Mirisim, has been pushing for these projects to come to fruition inorder for the people of Telefomin, in West Sepik Province to be connected by road with Tabubil inthe Western Province.
Mr Parker said unlike before,there is now political will to fast – track much ofthe road projects. Ok Tedi Development Foundation will continue to facilitate much ofthe road projects in consultation withthe appropriate authorities.
