Oceania Sports Education Program Training

The Oceania Sports Education Program (OSEP) training that kicked off on Saturday at Sir John Guise Stadium will end today.

The three-day program aims to boost productivity in five levels; community based coaching, officiating and administration, sports organisation management, olympic sport management and sports executive masters management.

In the level one training on community administration and coaching, 19 participants including officials and coaches from the PNG Sports Foundation and PNG Olympic Committee were in attendance.

Level two training is based on sports organisation management, and for this another 20 participants from various sporting codes attended.

The overall aim of the training is to change the mindset of coaching and officiating.

Olympic sport management and sports executive masters management training are advanced and were attended by the higher management of the PNG sports fraternity.

The courses are timely as some of the participants will be utilise the skills acquired in major sporting events such as the upcoming PNG Games.

The program will end today.
