O’Neill Welcomes Ambassador Bodson

Newly appointed Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium, Jean-Luc Bodson, paid a courtesy call to the Prime Minister, Peter O&rsquO’Neill yesterday.

In his opening remarks, Mr O&rsquO’Neill welcomed Ambassador Bodson and congratulated him on his appointment.

The two leaders discussed the bilateral relationship between the two countries and vowed to strengthen national economy and expand trade.

Current bilateral trade is worth almost one hundred million annually between Belgium and PNG.

 

Meanwhile, during their discussion, the Prime Minister, O&rsquO’Neill conveyed the condolences of PNG for the four citizens of Netherlands who lost their lives in the tragedy of MH17.

Prime Minister, O&rsquO’Neill said people around the world stand united in their grief and disbelief at what happened to the flight.
 

The Prime Minister said the United Nations Security Council resolution yesterday, offers hope that the remains of victims will be respectfully removed from the crash site, and a thorough crime scene investigation can take place.
