An official fromthe Department of National Planning and Monitoring has been arrested and charged with facilitating wrongful pay out of 3 million kina to a construction company.
He is Wakai Digine 30, from Pildimna village in Gumine, Simbu Province.
Digine was arrested last week bythe National Fraud SquadInvestigation Team underthe National Executive Council sanctionedInvestigation Task Force Sweep.
The accused has been charged with official corruption, abuse of office and conspiracy to defraudthe state.
