Northern Police Plan Ahead of 2017 Election

Preparation for the 2017 National General Election is in progress for police in Northern Province.

Provincial Police Commander, Chief Inspector, Lincoln Gerari, told EMTV News, that they are ready for the operations.

Gerari says they have enough manpower and 200 personnel will be engaged in the election operations.

“I have started to update the list of our manpower. I have asked CIS, ex-Defence, police so they can do the job,” he said.

Money and logistics support will be provided by the police department.

“At this stage I have not been informed, about home much we are going to receive to support us on logistics,”

Warnings have already been issued for those taking part in the election operation next year, and that is not to interfere with any intending candidates.

“That’s a strong warning and I will maintain that till the end of the 2017 election,” Gerari said.
