The Papua New Guinea US Embassy has officially announced the commencement of nominations for the 2015 PNG Women’s Forum to be staged from 9 to 11 March, 2015.
The forum focuses on the advancement of economic opportunities for women and gender justice, and will be held at Port Moresby’s Crown Plaza Hotel.
Participants of the forum will be selected through a “competitive nomination process” and persons who wish to take part, or nominate a member of their community to join the forum, are to fill the 2015 Women’s Forum participant nomination form.
Forms are available at the US Embassy and can also be obtained on the embassy’s website.
According to the press release, women leaders in the community, civil society, public service and women in the business sector will be given priority, as well as young leaders, upcoming public servants, advocates of women empowerment and men with a strong desire in gender quality and women’s empowerment.
Speakers and panellists of the 2015 PNG Women’s Forum will be announced at a later date; however, a draft agenda has been published on the US Embassy website.
Sponsorship from the US Embassy, the Australian High Commission of Papua New Guinea and ExxonMobil PNG will enable sponsored travel and lodging for selected participants.
