"Fuzzy Wuzzy Cup" – Mickey Kavera

 

Popondetta Touch Association is gearing up to host the Fuzzy Wuzzy Cup in September this year. The idea is to translate their history, through sports.

 

It will be used as preparation towards the PNG Games in Lae later this year.The code of touch has been dominant on the national scene, with much success. Ten thousand kina in prize money will be given to the winners in all divisions.

 


 

 

 

"International Aids Meet" – Tokana Hasavi Jnr

 

Oil Search Managing Director Peter Botten, has urged the private sector to step up, in the fight against HIV AIDS in PNG. Speaking at the 20th international AIDS conference today in Melbourne, Australia, he said this partnership is an effective method of fighting HIV AIDS in the country.

 

He was speaking at a special session focussing on HIV AIDS in PNG, leveraging the Public Private Partnership, at the conference.Health Minister Michael Malabag, Australian Parliamentarians and Global Fund representatives, also spoke at the same session.

 

Mr Botten said Oil Search’s public private partnership model is different to many others – it relies on the support and engagement with the communities, the Health Department, NGO’s and churches, in their operating areas.
