New Zealander Wins PNG Golf Open

New Zealander Pieter Zwartz isthe nePNG Golf Open winner recording 15 under par to edge out Lincon Tighe.

It was a close finish but Zwartz denliedthe Morobe Open champion from winning back to back titles.

The heat meant nothing asthe final leg ofthe SP Exports LagPNG Open ended on an unusually quiet note.

It was a close contest betweenthe top three finishers,the 2013 winner obviouslythe best amongthe three.

Pieter Swartz originally from Zimbabwe now living in New Zealand shot 66 a total of 273 overthe four days ofthe challenge with 15 under par.

2013 Morobe Open winner and Runner up Lincon Tighe shot 275, finishing score of 69 with 13 under par.

Coming third was Queenslander Peter Martin with a gross of 277 and a finishing round score of 277, shot 70 with 11 under par.

Major sponsors SP Brewery setthe pace for the tournament withthe winner walking away twenty thousand Australian Dollars (AUS$20,000) richer.
