For the next 12 months, Taurama Aquatic Indoor Sports Centre will be hosting basketball games, as Basketball Federation PNG plans to host respective events there throughout the year.
CEO Joel Khalu says the new venue is expected to see more basketball programs and training take place.
He says apart from running development and health programs for the community, training and preparations will also take place in the same area as teams and individuals prepare individually.
He said the venue, complete with its facilities and space, is enough to cater to big sporting events.
This is the second extension that BPNG has made in the last 12 months to keep the Aquatic Centre as their one stop shop when it comes to anything basketball.
He said having big training facilities like this will make the recruitment and training of talent much easier.
