New Vehicle for East New Britain Tourism Authority

By Lilian Sopera Keneqa – EMTV News

This week, the East New Britain Tourism Authority received a brand new vehicle from the PNG Tourism Promotion Authority. Valued at K250,000, the vehicle was purchased from funding under the tourism hub development concept.

Tourism Arts & Cultural Minister, Emil Tammur, said East New Britain was fortunate to receive such support under the tourism hub concept.

The fully kitted dual cab Toyota land cruiser vehicle was present to East New Britain Tourism Authority earlier this week. Tourism Arts & Cultural Minister Emil Tammur and PNG TPA CEO Jerry Agus were on ground to officiate the program.

TPA CEO Mr Agus echoed the Minister’s call urging all staff to use the vehicle appropriately so all stakeholders in the province’s tourism sector can meaningfully benefit from the government’s development goals.

Many times ENB Tourism Authority staff have to catch PMVs to go out to do their work especially when a cruise ship berths in Rabaul. The new vehicle will assist them greatly to move between Kokopo and Rabaul.

Much of ENB Tourism Authority’s work has been hampered by lack of logistical support. The vehicle will assist in the development of tourism in the province.
